Newburyport Artist Cathy Connor Visits Artists and Authors for Solo Exhibition
Exhibit to coincide with Marblehead’s Festival of the Arts and Gallery Walk Weekend
MARBLEHEAD, Mass., May 10, 2004 – The paintings of Cathy Connor will be the focus of a solo show July 3 – 25, 2004, at Artists + Authors Gallery, 108 Washington Street, Marblehead. Coinciding with the 204 Marblehead Festival of Arts, Artists + Authors will host an artist’s opening reception Saturday from 2:00-5:00 PM. Ms. Connor will be on hand to meet with visitors and discuss her works.
Cathy Connor’s artwork is included in various collections across the United States . Her upbringing on the North Shore of Massachusetts and her affiliation with the Montserrat College of Art have helped her to form the vision for the paintings that she produces today. Autobiographical in nature, Cathy’s personally based expressions combine images from her childhood, such as horses, dogs, and vast expanses of field, with elements of dream and subconscious imagery. The results are a poetic balance of conscious reality and the inner world of thought and emotion.
